Julia Avdeeva won the ITF W75 title in Germany!

Julia Avdeeva, a player from Alexander Ostrovsky Academy in Dorsten, won the ITF W75 BURG WÄCHTER LADIES OPEN POWERED BY REWE PETZ in Altenkirchen, Germany.

On Sunday, 18 February, in the final, Julia Avdeeva (coach Dmitry Palenov) faced former world No. 37 Alison van Eitvank, a 29-year-old Belgian who was ranked 706th in the women's rankings at the time. The 21-year-old Julia was able to take full revenge for her defeat in October 2023 in the final of the tournament in Reims (France) - W25 REIMS INTERNATIONAUX DE REIMS-CHAMPAGNE (4/6, 4/6), winning with a similar score of 6/4, 6/4.

A day earlier in the semi-finals, Julia Avdeeva defeated the top-seeded French player Océane Dodin 1/6, 6/3, 6/4.

For Julia Avdeeva, this is the first title of the 2024 season and the first since her victory in October last year at the ITF W60 HAMBURG LADIES & GENTS CUP 2023 in Hamburg, Germany.

In the latest WTA ranking, published on Monday, 19 February, Julia Avdeeva moved up 45(!) positions becoming the 201st player in the world, which is the best accomplishment in her career.
